Boutique estate and tax planning for business owners,
property owners and families with UK assets

GCI Consulting Limited

A boutique estate planning consultancy based in Guernsey, working with clients in the UK, the Channel Islands and internationally where UK assets or UK tax considerations are involved.

We specialise in strategic estate and tax planning for business owners, property owners and landlords. Our work is designed for clients who need more than a standard document or a generic piece of advice. We help bring together the legal, tax and practical parts of a plan so that the client receives clear, joined-up guidance.

Our core business

Our core areas include inheritance tax planning, business succession planning, property and landlord tax planning, trust planning, family investment companies, company restructuring, shareholder protection, gifting strategies, Wills, trusts and Lasting Powers of Attorney.

We are based offshore, but our work is closely connected with UK estate and tax planning. Through our network of solicitors, chartered tax advisers and specialist professionals in Guernsey and the UK, we are able to coordinate complex planning projects under one umbrella.

We do not operate as a mass-market estate planning business. We work with a carefully selected number of clients so that each matter can be handled personally, thoughtfully and with proper attention to detail.

Estate planning that is strategic, practical and personal

Good estate planning is not just about reducing tax. It is about understanding family priorities, protecting wealth, planning for succession, preserving control where appropriate, and ensuring that the structure works in practice.

For business owners, this may involve planning for retirement, sale, succession, shareholder protection, restructuring, inheritance tax exposure and the future transfer of value to the next generation.

For landlords and property owners, this may involve reviewing how properties are owned, how income and growth are taxed, how future inheritance tax exposure may arise, and how Wills, trusts, companies or family investment structures could form part of a long-term plan.

For Channel Island residents with UK assets, the planning can be particularly sensitive. UK property, UK companies, UK tax rules and cross-border family arrangements can all need careful consideration.

Our role is to make complex planning understandable and manageable.

Working with clients and professional advisers

Many of our clients come to us directly. Others are referred by accountants, IFAs, mortgage brokers, wealth managers, solicitors or other professionals who recognise that their client needs specialist estate or tax planning support.

We are used to working alongside existing advisers. Our aim is not to replace trusted professional relationships, but to add specialist estate planning input where it is needed. We can lead the planning process, coordinate the relevant advice and ensure that the final structure is properly considered.
